Born on April 9, 1985

Her accomplishments included a high school diploma from St. Augustine High School, class of 2003. A Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Incarnate Word, class of 2007. But in her own words, her greatest accomplishment is and always will be her son- Leonardo Joe Hernandez.

Traci worked tirelessly to protect the innocence of children through her work with Roy Maas Youth Shelter and as a Conservatorship worker with Child Protective Services; making a difference in children’s lives. Lastly, she  provided her services to United Health Care.

In her spare time; Traci enjoyed swimming, ballet, dancing, reading, traveling- to include frequent trips to the beach, listening to music, and watching movies. Most of all though, she enjoyed spending time with her son.

She is survived by her son Leonardo Joe Hernandez, father of her son- Joe Hernandez III, Her loving mother and father Ana Cecilia and Fernando (Bear) Barrera. Her brother Fernando P. Barrera. Her uncle, Jose Maria Barrera and first cousins Lauren and Chris Barrera. As well as other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Benita Florencia Piton and Guadalupe M. Villarreal. Her paternal grandparents; Julia B. Barrera and Fernando Barrera.

Traci was welcomed to the gates of heaven on August 3, 2021. She will always be remembered.

Beautiful Traci, Your big smile will be missed in the on camera meetings at work, as will your bubbly “good mornings” in the daily chats. Thank you for offering to come support my baby in his first varsity game, although it got rained out and we never made it, I appreciated that offer much more than you will ever know. You are now resting in eternal peace, and that smile will light up the heavens giving Leo warmth every day for the rest of his life. My condolences to your family, Sweet Girl, Fly high with the angels. Veronica
