Obituary

Scott Edward Sands, 74, entered into eternal rest Monday, November 2, 2020.

Scott was founder and administrator of Sands Care Health Services here in Laredo. He was a kind and generous person who would help anyone in need. He adored animals and was particularly fond of cats, who followed him around everywhere. He earned the name “the cat herder” due to his ability to train his cats to come when called. He loved the sea, he loved walking on the beach or spending a day boating. He once was a scuba diver instructor. Most of all Scott was a loving family man, nothing was more important than family. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Sands is preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Zeps; parents, Antons Zeps and Janina Zeps.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 28 years of marriage, Andrea Laura Sands; children, Scott David Sands, Nicholas Antons Sands, Janina Zeps, Erik Zeps, and Karl Zeps; sister, Rita (Richard) Lee; mother-in-law, Andrea G. Rosales; brother-in-laws, Jose G. (Irene) Rosales, Gabriel R. (Adriana) Rosales, Jorge Mario (Sylvia) Rosales; grandchildren, nephews, nieces; as well as other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.

The family will be receiving guests, Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. Funeral services will continue to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 59 of Laredo and presentation of the U.S. flag will be provided by the U.S. Air Force at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott David Sands, Nicholas A. Sands, Michael E. Rosales, Christopher Rosales, Victor Rosales, Daniel Rosales, Gabriel C. Rosales and Isaac Rosales.
