Samuel R. Paez was called by our Lord to enter His Paradise on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the age of 75.
Samuel proudly served his community of Laredo, TX, as an LISD Crossing Guard and Substitute Teacher, El Metro Bus Driver, and a CDL Truck Driver, for over 40 years. He eventually retired from his passion as a truck driver back in 2015, while working for Ozarka. Samuel also passionately served the Lord as a sacristan for San Martin de Porres for 10 years, and was a devoted Catholic, LMC Eucharistic Minister, and dedicated parishioner. He enjoyed visiting and providing the Holy Eucharist to the sick, fishing, going to Hot Rod Shows, collecting classic cars and trucks, barbecuing for his family at home, and planting trees in his yard.
He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Samuel Paez, Sr.; mother, Esperanza Rubalcaba Paez; brother, Javier Paez.
Samuel is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia V. Paez; children, Samuel Paez, Jr., Priscilla (Juan) Bustos, Rodolfo (“Julie”) Paez, and Erica (Angel) De Leon; 3 grandchildren, JC, JJ and Jazzy Bustos; and his siblings, Vilma, Susanna, and Sandra; as well as 2 nieces, 2 nephews and 5 great-nieces and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving guests on Monday, January 9, 2023, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services will continue on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at San Martin de Porres at 9:30 a.m. and will proceed with the procession to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
