Obituary

Rogelio ’Roy’ Morales Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 53 after an extensive fight with Glioblastoma, an aggressive and fatal brain cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, Raquel and daughter, Melanie.

Roy was born and raised in Laredo, TX on June 16, 1968 to Rogelio and Carmen Morales. He attended United High School and soon thereafter ventured off to various cities and states eventually returning back home to Laredo.

Roy’s life will never be defined by brain cancer, instead he will forever be remembered for his selflessness, his love for life, his kind heart and that unmatched humor he graced us all with. Roy’s infamous and contagious laugh lit up the lives of so many people. His wit and never ending jokes could put a room of people on the floor laughing. Roy was a true friend and a gentle soul. Those who met him were better off having done so because of the wealth of laughter and knowledge he brought into their lives. Roy was an avid golfer and was the founder of the MLP Golf Crew. He hosted charitable golf tournaments for Casa Misericodia as well as The Golden Heart Project. Roy was a philanthropist and had a deep passion for helping others.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Rogelio & Carmen Morales.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 5 years, Raquel Mendez Morales; daughter, Melanie Karina Morales as well as other family and friends who will miss him tremendously.
