Obituary

Roberto Barberena Jr., passed away on October 5, 2022, in Laredo, TX at the age of 34.

Roberto will be remembered as a genuine, funny and unique soul. Bert, as he was better known, was patient and kind to all that knew him.  He loved to perform and was an avid poet, host and musician. He was a loving son, brother and uncle, always up for an adventure. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Roberto is survived by his father Roberto Barberena Sr, Brother Alan Barberena and Sister Gabriela Morales Barberena along with his nephews Rodolfo Morales and Ian Morales and niece Natalia Morales, along with many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Sara Alicia Escamilla, his paternal grandparents Hugo & Dora Barberena and maternal grandparents Encarnacion & Ernestina Escamilla, along with his nieces Angela, Daniela and Camila Morales.

A memorial mass will be held in his honor at Divine Mercy Catholic Church on Tuesday October 18, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
