Rene Barraza, 72, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Laredo, Texas.
Rene Barraza was born in Portland, Michigan, on May 30, 1951, to his loving parents, Eleuterio and Emma R. Barraza, who now, along with Rogelio, Rosendo, Javier, and Javier Jr., welcome him with open arms into heaven.
Rene had a love for barbecuing, listening to oldies, watching classic movies, but most of all, being surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and Teddy, his loyal canine companion.
Rene was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Adriana Aviña Barraza, his children Rene Barraza Jr., Tracy (Mauricio) Garza IV, and Christian (Amanda) Barraza, his grandchildren Zoë, Christian Levi, Luke Andrew, Lyla Isabella Barraza, Roberto and Elizabeth Gutierrez, and great-grandchildren.
Rene also leaves behind his siblings Rodolfo Barraza, Hugo (Gabby) Barraza, Jose (Dalia) Barraza, Roberto Barraza, Leticia (Daniel) Avila, Luisa (Roberto) Esparza, Diana Melinda Barraza, along with other relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving guests on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, February 19, 2024 from the funeral home to Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
