Rene Andres Garcia Jr., 68, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Garcia was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas. He was a Vietnam Veteran, who proudly served his country as a US Army Military Police.
Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his parents: Rene and Beatrice Garcia, brothers: Alfonso Garcia, Pascual Garcia and Ricardo Garcia.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Olegaria L. Garcia, son: Rene A. (Hilda) Garcia III, daughters: Monica (Carlos Patrick) Garcia Gallagher, Beatrice (Omar) M. Alvarez and Cordelia (Jason Joseph) Helmandollar, 13 grandchildren, siblings: Carolina (+Jose Luis) Gonzalez, Oscar Garcia, Alonzo (Gloria) Garcia, Ramon (Elsa) Garcia, Homero (Gloria) Nuncio and Juanita Garcia, nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Kimberly Saenz.
The family received guests Tuesday October 25, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, where a holy rosary was recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services were today, Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment followed to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Rene A. Garcia III, Rene A. Garcia IV, Andres R. Garcia, Omar Alvarez, Omar Alvarez Jr., Jason J. Helmandollar, Carlos P. Gallagher and Eduardo Martinez Jr. Full military honors were provided by the American Legion Post 59 and Flag Fold Presentation by the United States Army.
