Obituary

A Veteran of the U.S Army, Raul passed into eternal rest on Thursday, Feb 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Raul attended St Joseph’s Academy in Laredo, Texas.  Enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956 and was Honorably Discharged in 1963.  In recent years, he became a real estate agent with J.R. Realty.

He was preceded in death by his father Raul Zapata from Nuevo Laredo, Tamps, México and his mother, Blanca Chapa de Zapata from Laredo, Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife Irene Zapata and children, Veronica Hartman, Bianca Cummings (Mike), Rebecca Gutierrez (Rene), Diana Arredondo (Jaime), Patsy Canales (Carl), Joe Botello.  Raul is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honoring the family wishes they have chosen to have a private service.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Sacred Heart Children’s Home.

Sentimos mucho la pérdida de su ser querido por eso queremos compartir con ustedes el consuelo que Dios nos da mediante las escrituras. Por ejemplo Dios nos promete eliminar la muerte, en Revelación o Apocalipsis 21:4 dice que “Dios limpiara toda lagrima de los ojos y la muerte no será más”. Y en Hechos 24:25 habla de “una Resurrección”. Estas promesas Jehova Dios las cumplirá muy pronto, ademas nos dice que tiene el deseo de devolverles la vida a nuestros seres queridos que hayan muerto.
