Raul Escobedo, Sr. 91, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and proud Army veteran entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lydia Bibiana Escobedo, parents, Agustin and Sara Escobedo; siblings, Carmen Escobedo, Gonzalo (Catalina +) Escobedo, Maria Concepcion (Jose +) Zamarripa, and Mario (Delia +) Escobedo. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Francisco (Rosaura) Escobedo, Raul (Carmen) Escobedo, Jr., Sergio (Sharon) Escobedo, Miguel Angel Escobedo, and Rosa Lydia (Jose Angel III) Lopez; grandchildren, Andrew Escobedo, Alexander Escobedo, Abram Escobedo, Miranda Layla Escobedo, Stephanie I. Gomez, Brandon H. Gomez, Carolina Lopez, Joaquin Andres Lopez, Nicolas Angel Lopez, and his sister Sara (Manuel +) Hernandez as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
He is survived by his “amigos de toda la vida” and brothers in arms, Jesus (Chuy) Garcia and Gregorio (Goyo) Uvalle, as well as his dear compadre; Juan Treviño.
The Escobedo family will be receiving condolences on Friday, April 26, 2024, in the Angelus chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will be officiated at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 1718 San Jorge, Laredo, TX 78040. The Funeral Mass will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers are Frank Escobedo, Alexander Escobedo, Abram Escobedo, Raul Escobedo, Jr., Sergio Escobedo, Mike Escobedo, Jose Angel Lopez III, and Jose Swan.
Honorary Pallbearers are Andrew Escobedo, Jesus (Chuy) Garcia, Juan Trevino, Gregorio (Goyo) Uvalle, and Jose Angel Lopez, Jr.
