Obituary

Beloved mother and sister, Raquel Falcon entered the kingdom of heaven, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the age of 92.  She lived in Laredo all her life. While in school she worked as an assistant librarian at Christian Middle and Martin High School.  She graduated from Martin High School and immediately started working for the telephone company until 1976.  When the office closed she then started a second career as a paraprofessional with L.I.S.D. until 2008 when retired.

She loved to volunteer. In 1939 she volunteered for the Red Cross issuing National stamps. During World War II she volunteered as a Red Cross nurse aide at Laredo Medical Air Force Base Hospital and at the City Clinic.

Mrs. Falcon was scout leader and a member of the Piasano Girl Scout Council for over twenty five years.  She also loved sports.  During World War II she played in the Laredo Powder Puff League.  Her favorite sports were baseball and football.

She will be remembered as a wonderful, charitable person —always ready to help anyone in need.

Mrs. Falcon is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvaro Falcon, brothers: Francisco (Hortencia) Lozano, Oscar Lozano and Cesar Lozano.  Left to cherish her memory are her children: Ofelia (Richard) Noriega, Carmen (Robert) Comstock, Xavier Falcon, Francisco (Lisa) Falcon and Laura Falcon, brothers and sisters: Rodrigo (+Rosa) Lozano, Jesus (Dora) Lozano, Antonia (Conrado) Montemayor, Sister Ofelia Lozano, F.M.A., step brothers and sisters, sister-in-law: Martha Lozano and Lucy Lozano, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 7:00 am to 10:30 am at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 9:30 am by Deacon Rodrigo Lozano.  Funeral mass will be held at 11:00am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  Interment will immediately follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
