Omar Luis “Flaky” Perez, 76, of Laredo TX was called upon by our savior on August 6th 2015. He battled cancer and fought courageously until his last breath. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Omar was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to many. He was a graduate of St. Augustine High School and was an outstanding basketball player. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who worked without ever taking a day off for over 50 years until he retired. He was a man of few words but always knew just what to say to bring up people’s spirit. He took care of his family, loved his wife, and did it without any complaints. To say that he will be missed is an understatement.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Omar. I worked with him in Laredo and met Gloria, his wife, back in late 60's. Omar was a kind and happy-go-lucky man always willing to lend a helping a hand. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to the family.
May you find solace in the Lord and comfort in his loving grace. We will be praying for the Gallegos and Perez families.
