Obituary

Norma Ileana Luan Cavazos, born March 17, 1950, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016.

Mrs. Cavazos was a dedicated educator for Alma Pierce Elementary School for 20 years.  After retiring from teaching, she owned and operated the family business, Laredo Wholesale Foods, Inc., alongside her husband for many years.

Norma had a great zeal for life and was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She also loved traveling and spending time with her sister.   She very much enjoyed reading scripture and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She took pleasure in tending to her home and garden, listening to lively music and socializing with her many friends and family.  Her warm smile and contagious laughter always filled the room, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Cavazos is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ruben Cavazos Jr.; brother, Armando J. Luan; mother, Virginia G. Luan and father, Francisco I. Luan.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gabriela Iliana (Rodolfo) Garcia and Victoria Viviana Cavazos; grandchildren, Luisa Gabriela Garcia and Rodolfo Ruben Garcia; her sister Gloria Idalia Luan (Leonel) Martinez, and other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016.  The family will be receiving guests from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services.  Chapel service will officiate at 11:00 am by Rev. Norman Howell.  Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be; Rodolfo Garcia, Mark Scott, Mario Osoria, Todd Keller, Leonel Martinez and Geraud Gonzales.

Reciban nuestras condolencias.
