Mercedes Peña Smith, 80, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013. Ms. Peña Smith is preceded in death by: Marco A. Rodriguez, Sr. and daughter: Teresita De Jesus Mixto-Pinto. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Marco A. (Christina) Rodriguez, Jr., Juanita M. (Greg Walker) Rodriguez, Virginia Rodriguez, Richard (Patricia) Rodriguez and Lisa (Matthew) Smith Schutte, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, sister: Ramona Peña and her brother: Guillermo (Irma) Peña, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will be receiving guests, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. Chapel service will be officiated at 10:00 am by Pastor Esther Gallegos.
The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to all the staff at Verde Wing of Regent Care Center and to Nurses on Wheels for all the care and attention given to Ms. Peña Smith.
