Mercedes Castillo

Mrs. Mercedes Castillo went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2012. She was a devoted housewife most of her life. She was born in Saltillo, Coahuila and later relocated to Nuevo Laredo where she met her long life husband Luis Castillo. On July 20, 1968 they moved to Laredo where they were happily married for 60 years.Mrs. Castillo was preceded in death by her husband Luis Castillo; sons in law: Jorge Vigil, Alberto Madrigal, and Fernando Martinez. She is survived by her children: Jose Luis (Trinidad) Castillo, Pedro (Olga) Castillo, Emily Castaneda, Dominga (Francisco) Dominguez, Ana Maria (+Alberto Madrigal) Castillo, Mercedes (George) Vigil, Maria del Carmen (Jorge) Mendoza, Maria Elena (Oscar) Garza, Patricia (+Fernando) Castillo, Graciela (Aida Rosales) Castillo and Ernestina (Joe) Garza. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Pedro Castillo, Pedro Castillo Jr. Jose Luis Castillo, Gerardo Garza, Ana Maria Castillo, Mercedes Vigil, Maria del Carmen Mendoza, and Graciela Castillo. Many thanks to Dr. J.R. Garcia, Doctors Hospital, Laredo Specialty Hospital, and Champion Home Care(provider Rosa Reyes and Olga Castillo). The family will be receiving relatives and friends for the viewing on Monday, April 30, 2012, from 5:00pm-9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services (4502 Thomas Ave). A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, departing from Fred Dickey Funeral Home to Mother Cabrini Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00am.
