Obituary

Mateo Morris returned to his Heavenly father on August 4, 2017. During his time on Earth, he lived life to the absolute fullest: never letting anything slow him down or keep him from being happy. He enhanced the lives of everyone around him and inspired others to persevere through adversity with a positive disposition. Mature beyond his years, he enjoyed reading fantastical adventure books, learning about the wonders of the world around him, and wowed in fascination with history’s greatest events. He had a deep appreciation for life and taught us all a little something about living.

He will live on in the hearts of his parents Carlos and Maritza Morris, his brothers Izak and Benjamin, and his grandparents, Alberto and Sandra Morris, and Guillermo and Maricela Villarreal.

He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services.   Committal service will immediately follow after visitation to the Laredo City Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are by Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, 1320 Trey Dr. Laredo, Texas (956)723-3611.  You may leave condolences to the family online at www.freddickey.com

Our condolences to the Morris Family. My daughter, Kailey Garza, was a classmate of Mateo's for past couple of years and she would talk about him alot. She knew he was a good friend and always helpful to her and others. She is sad but knows he will be watching over all the Gators at Gutierrez Elem. Many good memories of him at school or she would see him around around the neighborhood.

My thoughts and prayers for you and your family are with you today and for the difficult months to come. We always expect to go before our children, and when that doesn't happen, we wonder what in the world happened..... Your life will never be the same, but please know that it does get better than what you are going through right now. Please call if you ever need to talk.

My most sincere condolences to the Morris family. Mateo will be greatly missed at school, where he always had a joke or riddle to make others laugh. Mateo was such a special child and his presence would light up a room. He always found a way to brighten my day with a positive attitude and a 'fun' history fact. I will always treasure the time that I was able to be a small part of his life at school. May he rest in peace.

Mateo was a very good friend to my son Eduardo Del Corral in 3rd grade at Gutierrez elementary my son will tell me that he had a best friend and his name was Mateo. He will always mention that Mateo and him would play Pokémon cards and that Mateo will help my son in reading lessons. My son was worried and sad when Mateo didn't come back to school, he really wanted to see him. My son has very special memories with Mateo, he will be missed and never forgotten by my son.
