Mario Alberto Compean, 63, was called by the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2015.
He was married to his loving wife of 42 years, Ruth Donovan Compean and was a devoted husband, father, son and grandfather to his family.
Mr. Compean was a passionate teacher who enjoyed helping his students succeed, and took great joy in inspiring his students to acquire the necessary math skills for a successful life. He also had a wood crafting class after school that enticed students to build picnic tables and many other art forms.
After his retirement he enjoyed shopping and chatting with former students and friends. He leaves a legacy of love, peace, compassion, unity, devotion, gratitude and humility to his wife, family, friends and to all the students who once walked into his classroom.
Mr. Compean is preceded in death by his son: Eric Compean Sr., mother: Gloria Flores Compean, brother: Joe Compean, uncle: Benjamin Flores, aunts: Eloisa David and Amelia Lizcano, father-in-law: Oscar Donovan Sr.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years of marriage, Ruth Alice Compean, son: Jason Compean, grandchildren: Eric Compean Jr., Annie Emily Jones Compean, Anjolie Love Compean, Jaydon Christopher Compean and Gloria Derleen Compean, father: Jose “Pepe” Compean, brothers: Javier (Gloria) Compean and Rene (Lela) Compean, mother-in-law: Rosa Donovan, brothers-in-law: Oscar Donovan Jr., George Donovan, Michael Donovan, sisters-in-law: Rose (Rick) Gonzalez, Azeneth (Raul) Reyes Jr, Aracelie (Anthony) Winterroth, Lillian (Felix) Lozano, Gladys (Antonio) Tijerina, Jacqueline Donovan, Stella Compean and many other cherished relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 5pm to 9pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a rosary will be held at recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 30, 2015, from the funeral home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am. Interment will follow immediately in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jason Compean, Eric Compean Jr., Felix Lozano Sr., Felix Lozano Jr., Michael Donovan and Ruben Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be: Gildo Rodriguez, Javier Compean Sr., Javier Compean Jr., Ignacio Vallone, George Donovan, Luis Dueñes Sr., Luis Dueñes Jr., Dr. Rene Compean, Juan Gutierrez, Oscar Donovan Jr. and Robert Tatangelo.
