Maria Ofelia Soliz, 83, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, October 5, 2017. Mrs. Soliz is preceded in death by her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Francisco and Maria Perez, her beloved husband; Jesus Domingo Soliz, children; Richard Soliz, Rafael Soliz, Rolando Soliz and Alfredo Soliz, sisters in law; Irma Perez, Gregoria Esparza, Cesaria Canales and Manuela Sager, brothers in law; Elias Soliz, Trinidad Soliz, and Nicodemo Soliz.
Mrs. Soliz is survived by her children; Jesus D. Soliz, Jr., Carlos (Graciela) Soliz, Maria Ofelia (Roel) Peña, Matilde (Daniel) Sotelo, Sylvia (David) Martinez, Angela (Arturo) Gonzalez, and Roberto (Bonnie) Soliz, brothers; Raul Perez, Ricardo (Marta) Reyes, and Roberto (Maria De Los Angeles) Reyes, sisters in law; Dolores Soliz, Manuela Soliz, and Evangelina Soliz, daughters in law; Irasema R. Soliz and Bruna T. Soliz, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. The family would like to give special thanks to her daughter Sylvia Martinez and son Roberto Soliz who never left her side, her lifelong doctor; Dr. Maurice Click, and her caregivers; Nora Arellano and Dominga Don Juan.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 9, 2017, from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Roberto Soliz, Carlos Soliz, Carlos Soliz, Jr., Steven Martinez, Orlando Soliz, Valdemar Martinez, Rafael Soliz, Jr., Rolando Soliz, Jr., Roel A. Peña, Jr., and Ivan Soliz.
