Maria Christina Gamez

Maria Christina Gamez, 75, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, May 18, 2023. Mrs. Gamez is preceded in death by her husband; Jose Paz Gamez Jr., her parents; Lino and Rosaura Flores, and her brother; Lino Flores III.

She is survived by her children: Maria Cristina (Jose A.) Valdez, Jose P. (Angela) Gamez III, and Marco Antonio Gamez; brothers: Luis (Berta) Flores and Jose A. (Linda) Flores; grandchildren: Adan Castillo IV, Kristen Castillo, Angela Castillo, Gabriel J. Valdez, Sofia I. Gamez, Jose D. Gamez, Avery E. Gamez, Krista N. Gamez and Mia A. Gamez; and great grandchildren: Adan Castillo V, Abel Castillo, Evelynn Olivo, Dominic Castillo, Austin E. Barron, Aaron K. Barron, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of Laredo, Maria Christina devoted herself to caring for her family and always putting other’s needs before hers. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 26, 2023, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
