Manuel Deleon, Jr.

Manuel Deleon, Jr., 83, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in Laredo, Texas.  Mr. Deleon worked for the City of Laredo for 36 years and proudly served in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by parents: Manuel and Maria del Refugio Deleon, sister; Guadalupe Mendiola and grandson: Nicholas Macario “Niko” Moreno.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years of marriage, Josefina H. Deleon, his children: John (Nancy) Deleon, Carlos (Betty) Deleon, Luis (Romelia) Deleon, Alonzo (Rosario) Deleon, Guillermo (Rosie) Deleon, Mary Ann (Alfredo) Gomez, Maggie Deleon, Adriana Estrada, Isabel (Macario) Moreno and Eva Torres, 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends, Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014, from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am.  Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 59 and flag fold presentation by the United States Army.
