Luis Manuel Collazo, 86 years old, of Laredo, Texas, went to heaven to join his lovely bride Zulema on February 18, 2014.

As a young man he served in the US Army and was a leader within the greatest generation; a World War II veteran! He established ACE Plumbing and pioneered the modernization of our city.

Born to Gerardo and Manuelita Collazo with 1 sister and 9 brothers: +Trinidad (+Oscar T.), +Pedro (+Melba) (WWII Veteran), +Rodolfo (+Estela/Silvia) (WWII veteran), +Jose (+Elia), +Ignacio (Eloisa) (WWII veteran), Roberto (Maria), +George (+Silvia) (US Navy), Aurelio R. (Maria F.) (US Air Force), Oscar (Irma) (SCPO US Navy, Retired), and Fernando (Margarita) (US Air Force); upon completion of service, they were successful business professionals.

He is survived by his children: Luis J. (Myrthala) Collazo, Richard “Cayo” Collazo, Alfredo (Lourdes) Collazo, Gina (Felipe) Tovar and Yolanda (Fabian) Mendoza; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bountiful gratitude to those who comforted and embraced our father during his final years; the domino brothers; his bingo friends, his doctors, and especially Marisela Aguilar his caregiver.
