Lucy Dickinson Martinez

Lucy Dickinson Martinez, 87, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Lucy resided in Hebbronville, TX, when she married Romeo Martinez. When she resided in Laredo, she worked for Laredo National Bank and Laredo Community College. She was the back bone of the college serving as the right hand to the Dean of College. She proudly served the community as an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church as a Catechism teacher.  Ms. Martinez will always be remembered as an amazing mother, daughter, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was “the port in the storm” and always helped those in need. Upon retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren and serving at her church.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Michelle Martinez and Cordelia (Giuseppe) Favarato, grandchildren; Elizabeth Palacios, Luca Favarato, Corynn De La Garza, Donald Davis III, Kelly Adams and Neva Doyle, great-grandchildren; Haley Davis and Lilly Dobson, siblings; Greg (Blanca) Dickinson, William (Lillian) Dickinson, Margret (Art) Melendez and Charles (Carmela) Dickinson. Family would like thank the staff of Setom Brackenridge Hospital who took such tender care of her in her final hours especially Ashley and Jay.

The family will receive guests Friday, July 15, 2016, from 8:00am to 9:30 am at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, where a holy rosary will be recited at 9:30am.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 11:00am.  Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
