Leopoldo “Polo” Garibay, Sr., 80, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Mr. Garibay was a loving husband, dedicated father and a dedicated employee. He was a proud veteran for the United States Army and also worked for the City of Laredo “Parks and Recreation Department” and retired after 44 years. Mr. Garibay is preceded in death by his wife: Olga Irene Laurel Garibay, parents: Macario (Josefina) Garibay, Sr., brothers: Macario Garibay, Jr. and Alberto Garibay, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Liza (Gilberto) Ramos, Olga I. Garibay (Jeronimo Rodriguez, Jr.), Leopoldo (Leticia) Garibay, Jr. and Kristina (Mario) Ehrenzweig, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister: Beatriz Garibay and Herlinda Sepulveda, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the people that cared for him for the past 2 years.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Leopoldo Garibay, Jr., Mario Ehrenzweig, Leopoldo Garibay, III, Eduardo Garibay, Gilberto Ramos, Jeronimo Rodriguez, Jr., Alberto Garibay, Jr and Jose Angel Garibay.
