Obituary

On this 8th day of October, Judy Kay Folger Rodriguez, entered into eternal peace surrounded by her loved ones. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ms. Judy, as she was fondly known by many, lived a gracious life filled with love for her family and a passion for her profession and educating others.

Born in Fort Hood, Texas in January 1953 to Arvid and Frances Folger, Judy moved to Laredo when she was 18 years old where she met and married her beloved soulmate and husband, Raymond Rodriguez, whom she was married to for 50 years.  Judy Rodriguez was a loving and devoted mother to Ray and Michelle Rodriguez, and always devoted herself to caring for her family.

Judy Rodriguez began her career in 1971, as a cosmetology student at Laredo Beauty College. She had such a gift for teaching and a passion for the industry, that she quickly obtained a job as an instructor and further advanced to Educational Director. Eventually, Judy became owner of Laredo Beauty College and educated thousands of individuals for over 50 years. Her grace and kind hearted nature impacted so many lives and she will be deeply missed by her students and colleagues. Those who knew her will always remember her generous heart and graceful soul.

Judy Rodriguez is preceded in death by her loving parents, Arvid and Frances Folger, her mother and father in-law, Ramon and Constanza Rodriguez, brother, Arvid Folger II, sister and brother in-law, Eduardo and Aurora Tijerina. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Rodriguez, her devoted children, Ray Rodriguez, and Michelle Rodriguez (Joe Valdez), and her precious grandchildren, Ramon de Jesus Rodriguez (Lizbeth Marquez Linares Rodriguez), and Trinity Grace Rodgers, as well as her beloved sisters and brothers, adored nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
