Juanita B. Gutierrez, 89, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. Mrs. Gutierrez was a very good wife, daughter and mother. She was an avid cook and gardener. She was a kind, sociable, noble person who was always willing to help others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Gutierrez; parents, Herman & Guadalupe Benavidez; son, Francisco Javier Gutierrez; brothers, Ernesto Benavidez, Bena Benavidez; sisters, Antonia Cantu, Tomas Hernandez, Nieves Medellin, Eva Vela; niece, Gloria Medellin; and sisters in law, Grace Llano and Guadalupe Rodriguez.

Left to cherish her memory are her; daughter, Rosario Gutierrez (Felipe) Lopez; granddaughters, Natalia Gutierrez, Zelina Grace Escobedo; great grandsons, Dennis Duran, Celso Duran; brother in law, Feliciano (Sylvia) Gutierrez & Family; special nieces and nephews, Minita De Leon, Patricio Cantu, Zulema (Richard) Holman, Priscilla Garza; Abelardo Medellin; as well as other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Dr. Luis Benavides, Regent Care Center & Staff, Nurse Barraza and hairdresser Maria Chavez.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a rosary will be held at 7pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 23, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 9:30am at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Tx.
