Juan Antonio Rivera L., 79, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, MX, grew up in Selma, California and made Laredo, Texas his home for over 40 years.
He was a gifted and talented Mariachi performer and businessman in Mexico City, in his earlier years. Later he moved to Laredo and worked and retired from the city of Laredo after 23 years of service.
He was an Elder and active member of the Sinai Presbyterian Church (USA) for more than 40 years. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a nurturing grandfather. He was a faithful Christian, always showing God’s love. Those who met him received his special attention and care. He always made people feel special. He captivated his family and friends with his beautiful voice. He usually would sing beautiful songs of worship to God at his church. He is now singing with the angels in heaven. His testimony as a loving, caring and positive Christian will live in our hearts forever.
Mr. Rivera is preceded in death by parents: Jose (Ana) Rivera, brother: Jose Rivera and sister-in-law: Julia Rivera.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years: Aida H. Rivera, children: Pedro (Alicia) Rivera, Carlota E. Rivera, Veronica R. (Luis M.) Villarreal and Ana Lilia Rivera, grandchildren: Luis M. Villarreal II, Andres A. Villarreal and Raul E. Villarreal, brother: Reyes Rivera and sister-in-law: Esther Rivera.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, March 22, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. Chapel service will officiate at 9:00 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.

Solo Jehova sabe el Dia y la Hora en que hay que dejar todos los sueños y solo soñar en el Cielo , pero puede uno ver gracias a los recuerdos que fue inmensamente Feliz y siempre con esa Alegría que lo caracterizaba , esa Alegría que ahora el comparte con sus Padres , dichoso es el haberlo conocido y dichoso el Cielo que escucha su Armoniosa Voz .
