Jose Perez, 94, entered in to eternal rest Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Mr. Perez served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 at Ft. McIntosh, Texas. He was a proud WWII veteran of the US Army in the 5th Cavalry Regimen  of  the First Cavalry Division in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign in New Guinea, Bismark Archipelago and Luzon, South Philippines from July 1940 to August 1945.  He retired with 35 years of service with the U.S. Government GSA at the International Bridge, US Federal Building and Border Patrol Station.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Maria Guadalupe Perez, parents: Julio (Tomasita) Perez, sisters: Florinda Garcia, Petra Garcia and Margarita Perez.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Delia (Jose) Solis, Elizabeth (Omar) Guevara, Ana Lila Perez, Jose Gerardo(Mari) Perez, Diana Perez and Carlos(Carolyn) Perez, grandchildren: Iris Enriquez, Joey Solis, Lizabeth Cardenas, Omar Guevara, Isaias Garza, Karla Garza, Ashley Vasquez, Megan, Erin, Gia Perez, Hector, Gabriela Tijerina, Francesca, Benjamin Perez, great-grandchildren: Carlos, Ava Enriquez, Arizbeth Cardenas, Zia Guevara, Asia, Andon, Avram Vasquez, Armando and Isabella Garza.  His sisters Zulema Gonzalez and Gloria (Alfonso) Mendiola, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Dr. Marissa Gonzalez, Dr. Octavio Guzman, Altus Hospice and staff, caregivers: Rosie, Blanca, Sylvia and Lily.  In lieu of flowers the family request contributions made to Volunteers Serving the Need.

The family will be receiving guests Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.  A prayer service will officiate at 11:00 am by Deacon Gerardo Morales.  Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 12:30 pm for interment at the City Cemetery.  Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 59 and Flag Fold presentation by the United States Army.
