Jose Manuel Zamarripa, 63, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Mr. Zamarripa is preceded in death by his parents; Jose N. and Maria C. Zamarripa.
A Laredo native, having moved to California, Mr. Zamarripa served as a U.S. Border Patrol agent. He entered duty with U.S. Border Patrol in January of 1985 and retired on March 29, 2013.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ramona J. Zamarripa; children, Joe (Janet Sandoval) Zamarripa, Alex (Rose Mary) Zamarripa and Angie Zamarripa; siblings, Juan (Rosa) Zamarripa, Luis (Laura) Zamarripa, Daniel (Ana) Zamarripa, Maria Del Carmen (Juvencio) Alcorta, Maria Del Lourdes (Juan) Hernandez III, Javier (Graciela) Zamarripa, Miguel (Diana) Zamarripa, Felipe (Leticia) Zamarripa, Maria Concepcion (Gilberto) Ochoa, Sara (Gabriel) Mendez and Raul Zamarripa, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will be receiving guests Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am.

Joe was one of my first journeymen when I arrived at ELC. Always treated the new guys with respect and never talked down to anybody. One if the best guys ever to work with there. Laid back and patient were done if his best traits. Condolences to his family. Truly a great man and he’ll be missed by many.

How I yearn for those days gone by when we watched football with some beers n I bad mouthed ur beloved Cowboys n how u defended them.
