Jesus Mario Canales, 53, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017.
Mr. Canales is preceded in death by his parents: Marcelo and Celia Canales.
Left to cherish his memory are his ,siblings: Beatriz Montoya, Marcelo (Lupita) Canales, Maricela (Sergio) Galindo, Marisa (Rolando) Chapa, Jose Oscar (Anna) Canales, Francisco Javier (Juanita) Canales, Luis Roberto (Laura) Canales, Saul (Lupita) Canales, Celia (Steven) Queen and Sarah Bergoon, nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life will initiate at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. . Chapel service will officiate at 10:30 am. Inurnment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Reciban nuestras condolencias. El perder a un ser querido es lo más difícil por eso queremos compartir el consuelo que Dios nos da mediante la Biblia. Por ejemplo en Revelación o Apocalipsis 21:4 dice que "Dios limpiara toda lágrima de los ojos y la muerte no sera mas". En Hechos 24:15 dice que "va ha haber una resurrección". Entonces vemos que muy pronto nuestro dador de la vida Jehova Dios acabará con toda la maldad y el sufrimiento incluyendo las enfermedades y la muerte. Y les devolvera la vida a nuestros seres queridos que hayan muerto.
Mi más sentido pésame para la familia Canales en estos momentos de luto tan difíciles. Siento mucho lo sucedido a mi querido amigo Mario. Que Dios les conceda la fortaleza que necesitan para soportar este gran dolor. Mario ha dejado un gran hueco pero también dejo hermosos recuerdos, su carisma y su sonrisa que lo caracterizaban. Siempre lo recordare feliz, sonriente, abrazando a todo aquel que conocía. Descansa en paz querido amigo.

My deepest condolences to Mario's family. My heart is broken, he was a very special friend. I had the pleasure of working with him and I always admired his dedication, always on top of everything, always willing to help, it won't be the same without him, miss him everyday.

It is impossible to encapsulate such an amazing life and human being into a fixed set of words but Mario was an amazing person with a heart of gold. A grand portion of my best memories include him and my great friend Yvette; along with the entire family. He was the first to nickname me "Billy", of which stuck immediately. He was so so much fun to be around; always loving music...especially "Erasure". I will miss him dearly and always. I am very sorry to learn about Mario's passing. He was a very thoughtful and caring person. He was always there to help anyone in need. It was a pleasure working with him at Laredo ISD. All of us who knew him are truly going to miss him.
One of my favorite memories of Mario and I have always been practicing at the band hall. We both were obsessed with practicing our instruments. We wouldn't just do band practice, we stayed after rehearsal and after school to master our instruments. Him on clarinet and me with my flute. We went on band trips together as well as individual competitions together. So many great laughs and beautiful music. He always said that sometimes he wished he would have become a professional clarinet player playing in an orchestra. I bet he is now." I love you and will miss you so much my friend. Rest in peace...
I am writing this in disbelief of the news of Mario's passing. My deepest condolences to all the Canales family. Mario was an individual that would light up a room. Where ever Mario was, there was laughter. Mario made me laugh every day we spent together. He was my closest friend all through high school. I have such wonderful memories of those times. He was a wonderful human being. I will miss him dearly. I love him very much.
