On November 23rd, 2023, Jesus G. Molina peacefully passed away at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Jesus led a remarkably diverse life, marked by a tapestry of experiences. While still a teenager, he served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne infantry during the Vietnam War. Later, he dedicated almost two decades to firefighting for the city of Laredo. His unwavering passion for aiding others led him to a second career as a substance abuse counselor after retiring from the fire service.
Renowned for his vibrant spirit, Jesus loved listening to all genres of music and he loved to sing and dance. He earned a reputation for being candid and forthright. An avid exerciser, he ran at least 5 miles a day, often along the shores of Lake Casa Blanca, a routine he maintained for several decades.
In his later years, Jesus embraced the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses, devoting much of his time to preaching and conducting Bible studies. He served as an elder at the Kingdom Hall on Buena Vista, demonstrating his steadfast commitment.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Anacleto and Olga Molina. Jesus is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Christina Molina. He is also survived by his children Jesús Guadalupe Molina Jr., Ricardo Hernandez, Jessica Juarez, and Sandrín Molina (Joel Rushefsky), along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Further, Jesus is survived by his siblings, Jose (Jesusita), Rodolfo, Javier, and Belia Josefina Molina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and the extensive family of his beloved wife.
The Molina family will be receiving condolences on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A memorial talk will begin at 6:30 pm. The religious service, commemorating the life of our beloved, will conclude around 7 pm with a heartfelt prayer. Following this, a live musical performance dedicated to celebrating Jesus’ life will take place. After the musical tribute, there will be an opportunity for friends and family who knew Jesus well to share cherished memories. A microphone will be available for those who wish to express their thoughts and anecdotes individually, creating a space for personal reflections in honor of his remarkable journey.
