Ignacia “Nancy” Rodriguez was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. On August 20, 2023, at the age of 89, she received her wings and made her transition to be with the Lord in her heavenly Home.
Nancy loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals and working in her garden tending to her many plants. She was an avid member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where she was a part of the Altar Society, Sagrado Corazón, AMSIF and Sociedad de los Agustinos.
Mrs. Rodriguez is preceded in death by her parents, Rito Gil and Magdalena Gil; sister, Juana Gil; and husband, Manuel H. Rodriguez.
She is survived by her siblings, Rosa Gil, Guadalupe Gil, Maria Feliz Gil, Josefa Gil, Paula Gil, Teresa Gil, Jose Carmelo Gil; children, Norma (John) Constancio, Ignacio (Rosa) Rodriguez, Jose P. (Edna) Rodriguez and Jacqueline (Gabriel) Alonzo; grandchildren, Veronica (Jeffrey) Romero, Ignacio (Susie) Rodriguez, Ricardo (Isela) Rodriguez, Loraine Rodriguez, Lisa (Mark) Dominguez, Cynthia Rodriguez, Christopher (Stefani) Alonzo, Audrey Alonzo, Abigail Alonzo, and Amber Alonzo; 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; close family friend, Fred Collin and his mother Minerva Collin; and Cockatiel Melon.
The family will be receiving guests on Friday, August 25, 2023, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5pm to 9pm. A rosary will be recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, departure from the funeral home at 8:30am to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will commence at 10am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall following the burial service. The first day of the Rosary Novena will take place Saturday, August 26, at 5:30pm at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
