Hector Lorenzo Rangel, a proud and honorable man, passed away on February 13, 2024, in his hometown of Laredo, Texas, at the age of 82. Born on September 10, 1941, Hector was a beloved member of his community.
Mr. Rangel served his country with dedication and honor in the United States Army. His commitment to his military service was unwavering, reflecting his deep love for his country.
A skilled Master Carpenter, Hector’s craftsmanship and expertise were admired by many. His legacy as a hardworking and talented individual will be cherished by all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his surviving family members: Tonie (Rangel) Rodirguez, Elvia (Rangel) Vital, Irma (Eliseo) Puente, and Mario (Araceli) Rangel, Laura Rangel, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Hector was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Blanca Rangel, and his siblings, Alfonso (Bertha) Rangel, Ramiro (Sonia) Rangel, Benito Rangel, Homero Rangel, and Rosie (Rangel) Pina.

A memorial service to honor Hector will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Fred Dickey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service given by Pastor Dorso Maciel, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Veterans Section of the Laredo City Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor Guard.
Hector’s legacy of service, craftsmanship, and love for his family will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
