Hector H. Castaneda, 85, was called home by his Lord and Savior, March 31, 2016.
Mr. Castañeda was born in Laredo, Texas to the late Felix (Paula) Castañeda on June 6, 1930. He was a U.S. Army veteran that proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Castañeda was an active member of the local Korean War Veterans Association. He was also actively involved and was a dedicated member of San Luis Rey Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years of marriage, Maria V. Castañeda, children: Cecilia (Mario) Moreno, Hector Castañeda, Jr., Rosario (Orlando) Medina, Nora (Ricardo) Martinez ans Felix (Elvira) Castañeda, grandchildren: Clarissa Castañeda, Vanessa Medina, Mario Enrique Moreno, Rebeccah Moreno, Joseph Guerra, Marcos Moreno, Victoria Medina and Sophie Martinez, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests Monday, April 4, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, where a holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at San Luis Rey Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 59 and Flag Fold Presentation by the United States Army.
