Thank you for being a wonderful, caring and loving dad to us. Thank you for being there when we needed you. Thank you for all the things you did for us. We will never forget you; you will always be in our hearts. I thank God for giving us the opportunity to be with you until the last day of your life. I thank God for giving you the peaceful rest that you deserve. We always trusted in God, that he would determine your destiny. We love you daddy and you will always be in our hearts.
Mr. Guadalupe “Don Lupito” Garcia died at the age of 92. He was born in Bustamante, Nuevo Leon. He moved and lived in Austin, TX for more than 30 years and then returned to Laredo. While in Austin, he worked as a custodian at Molly Dawson Elementary School. He was loved by all the children at school and by the teachers.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Pablo Garcia and Maria Zamora-Garcia, his brothers: Manuel Garcia, Pedro Garcia; one sister: Maria del Jesus Garcia-Martinez; one nephew: Manuel Garcia, Jr.; two nieces: Lilia Ruiz and Magdalena Martinez.
He is survived by his children: Juan Jose (Theresa) Garcia from Austin, Lupita (Isidoro) Rivera and Alma (Jose) Rangel from Laredo and Blanca (Peter) Montes from Austin, grandchildren: Elizabeth Flores, Lena Ortiz, Marcos and Bernadette Garcia from Austin, Annabelle (Todd) Whalen, Gerardo (Marie) Rivera, Javier (Margie) Rivera, Eloisa, Valeria, Yvette, Anissa Marie and Xavier Rangel from Laredo, and Vicente, Victoria and Irma Dolores Montes from Austin, TX. He has 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Gerardo Rivera, Javier Rivera, Javier Rivera, Jr., Todd Whalen, Xavier Rangel, Marcos Garcia and Valeria Rangel.
Special thanks to Doctor’s Hospital ER Staff especially: Dr. Francisco Gutierrez, Chelsea McCoy, RN, and Maria Filazzola, RN, Hose Supervisor, for all the comfort care that was given to my dad during the time he was there. Also special thanks to University Hospital ER Staff, Trauma Department in San Antonio, Texas, during this difficult time he was there. Also special thanks to Mrs. Mary Enriquez and Marina Blanco for all the help and care given to our dad.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2015, at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am.
