Guadalupe A. Rodriguez of Laredo, Texas passed away peacefully at Doctors Hospital on June 10, 2017 following a brief illness. She is now resting in the everlasting arms of our Lord.
Lupita was born on August 4, 1927 to Gonzalo and Juanita Arizola in Islitas, Texas.
She married the love of her life, Candelario Rodriguez and together they built a beautiful life together. They were inseparable and enjoyed eating at their favorite restaurants frequently and traveling to many exotic places including Hawaii. They were also business partners and established and maintained a very successful pawnshop and sign company, CSR Pawn and Sign, in downtown Laredo for many years. Lupita served as their self taught bookkeeper.
After her husband’s passing she devoted herself to her family and provided loving care to her parents and support for all her family members. She also worked several years as bookkeeper for The Education Center.
One of her favorite sayings was “Nomas son cosas” meaning that things can always be replaced but family and friends can never be replaced and are to be treasured forever. She exemplified this every day of her life. Though she never had children of her own she was a loving and devoted mother to us all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gonzalo and Juanita Arizola, her brother Juan Ramon Arizola, her sister Estela Cisneros and her loving husband, Candelario Rodriguez.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Jose Luis Arizola, her niece and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests Sunday, June 18, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2017, at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. Chapel service will commence at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
