Graciela Rodriguez, 65, born November 28, 1951, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Her parents were Baltazar Rodriguez and Rebeca Garza de Rodriguez who preceded her in death.

Graciela was known in the neighborhood for keeping a beautiful garden full of flowers and birds.  She loved nature and had a strong bond with animals.

She is survived by her son: Jose Luis (Jennifer) De La Cruz, Jr., granddaughter: Evangeline, siblings: Diana Silvia R. Hamblen, Lic. Fernando Rodriguez Garza and Alma Leticia Rodriguez, her niece whom she helped raise Diana Patricia Hamblen, special niece Barbara Ma. Rodriguez (Felix) who has always been by her side and her caretaker Arlet Torres.   Also surviving Ms. Rodriguez are numerous nieces and cousins in Nuevo Laredo, Laredo and San Antonio, Texas.  She is also survived by her beloved paw-caretakers Tohuito, Shakira, Hibeki and Yuri.

The family wishes a special thank you to Dr. Alex Blanco and Nurses on Wheels, most especially to Vicky and Nora for their care and devotion.

A memorial mass will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, at 7:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Mass will be presided by Fr. Jacinto Olguín.  There will be a private graveside service at the family plot in Jardin de los Angeles in Nuevo Laredo at a later date.  Her final wish was that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to LAPS (Laredo Animal Protection Society) in Laredo, Texas or Grupo RETO (Recuperacion Total para pacientes de cancer) in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps, tel. 867-729-7223
