Francisco De Hoyos
September 5, 1950 – April 1, 2023
Francisco de Hoyos 3rd (Cholin) gained his heavenly angel wings on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Born on September 5, 1950, in Anahuac Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Francisco de Hoyos Jr. and Paulita Garcia de Hoyos, he attended Kindergarten in Anahuac and could no longer attend school after his first year due to his sudden illness. In 1965, Francisco immigrated to the United States together with his family in Laredo, Texas. In 2003, Francisco moved with his mother and brother Fernando to Edinburg, Texas. After the passing of his mother, Francisco moved in with his sister Hilda and remained under Hilda’s and her husband’s care for 10 years before being transferred into a nursing home due to the worsening of his condition.
Francisco is preceded in death by his father, Francisco de Hoyos Jr., his mother, Paulita Garcia de Hoyos, brothers, Mario, Alfonso, and Fernando de Hoyos.
He is survived by his brothers, Jorge (Denise) de Hoyos, Jose Felipe (Rosalinda) de Hoyos, Salvador (Azucena) de Hoyos and sister, Hilda (Jesus Roberto) Soto. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, as well as his beloved cousins who shared a large part of their lives with him and assisted with his care, Susana Garcia Watson, Graciela Cliver and other relatives.
The De Hoyos family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. The chapel service will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
