Felix Cruz, Jr., September 13, 1934 – October 3, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Felix Cruz, Jr., who passed away peacefully in his home on October 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 13, 1934, in San Ygnacio, Texas to Felix Cruz and Guadalupe Bermea Cruz. Felix was a man of faith, family, and kindness. He was the person that everyone in the family counted on for support, help, and good conversation. Felix loved to spend time with his beloved wife, Angela, and their five children who he helped rear with a steady and loving hand. He thoroughly enjoyed a trip and would relish time spent with his loved ones in new and beautiful scenic surroundings, a nice beer, and a good steak. He found joy in everything he did and friendship in everyone he met. His personality made it easy for him to connect with people, both personally and professionally. His kindness towards others, compassion for those in need, and fellowship amongst all were attributes that drew people to him. Felix was an avid church goer at San Luis Rey Catholic Church where he assisted in any activities that required a helping hand by the parish. When the Lord called for him, he was at peace knowing that he lived his life true to the word of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Felix was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Angela G. Cruz, his daughter, Raquel Cruz Chalambaga, and his parents, Felix Cruz and Guadalupe Bermea Cruz. He is survived by Vilma (Fernando) Pena, Felix (Blanca) Cruz, III, Griselda (Gustavo) Alcantar, and Juan J. Cruz. Felix was blessed with loving grandchildren, Ray (Alice) Arispe, Rachel Arispe, Carmen (Greg) MacKinnon, Veronica (Rene) Segovia, Felix Cruz, IV, and Gustavo I. Alcantar. He was also blessed with great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild whom he treasured. Many others mourning his loss include nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Felix now joins his brother Manuel Cruz and his sister Guadalupe Cruz in eternal rest, among other extended family members that preceded him in death whom he loved with all of his heart.
