Felix C. Rocha, Jr., 89, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023. He was blessed beyond measure as the husband of Corina Elizabeth, the proud father of four children and a hero to his eight grandchildren.
Born to Felix and Esperanza (Coronado) Rocha on June 7, 1934, in Laredo, Texas. Felix married the love of his life, Corina Elizabeth Gonzalez, in 1960. He described their life as “everything good”. Corina preceded him in death in 1972, but not before giving Felix his reasons for living, Sonny, Didi, Becky and David. He was very proud of his children and their success in their chosen fields.
After fulfilling his commitment with the U.S. Army and continuing his service via the U.S. Army Reserves, Felix applied to the University of Texas at Austin. In 1962, he earned his Degree in Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Felix was a proud Texas Ex. He was dedicated to his Longhorns and thoroughly enjoyed watching every Texas football game.
After UT, Felix left Austin to begin his long career with the Army Corps of Engineers. He ultimately retired in San Antonio. He happily took on the role of that guy who’s first in the pick-up line at his grandchildren’s elementary school, tax preparer, repair guy, Spanish tutor, political campaign consultant and life advisor, all-in-one.
Preceding him in death was his beautiful wife, Corina Elizabeth Rocha, his parents, Felix and Esperanza (Coronado) Rocha and his brother, Roberto (Bobby) Rocha. Felix is survived by his son Felix C. Rocha, III and Letty, Norma Diana Rocha, Rebecca Battaglia and Manuel, David Rocha and Antonia. Quito, as he was affectionately called by family, is also survived by his sisters Maria Teresa (Chacha) Rocha, Nellie Trust and Michael, and Hope Nora and Amaury; he was the best grandpa to Felicia, Felix, Frannie, Joseph, Luke, Corina, Zoe and Adam.
All arrangements will be in his hometown of Laredo, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M.; the Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. on Monday, October 2nd at Fred Dickey Funeral Home, 1320 Trey Drive.
