Obituary

On Thursday, October 10, 2019, Ernesto Salazar, of Laredo, Texas, peacefully passed on to eternal rest at the age of 85.

Ernesto was a United States Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He eventually joined and retired from U.S. Customs and Border Protection as an Inspector. He was also inducted into “Latin Sports Hall of Fame.” He’ll be greatly missed by his family but not forgotten.

Ernesto is predeceased by his wife, Beatriz Salazar.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Anita (Adrian) Briseno, Otila (Jose A.) Garcia, Ernesto (+Martha Alicia) Salazar, Candelario J. (Leticia) Salazar, Gregorio (Yvonne) Salazar, Julio (Karina) Salazar, and Marco Antonio (Andrea) Salazar. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Monday, October 14, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, 1320 Trey Drive, Laredo, Texas. A holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Laredo, Texas. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 59.
