Eric Gabriel Iglesias heard the Lord call and went home to be with Him on April 8, 2021, surrounded by his family, at the age of 47.
Eric became a Warrior as he battled Glioblastoma and did so in the most heroic way. Eric was born on January 13, 1974 in Edinburg, Texas to Nat and Tonette Iglesias and resided in Laredo until he moved to San Antonio, Texas to undergo his aggressive treatments.
He was a 1992 graduate of United High School and then became a part of the U.S. Marine Corps and later a certified massage therapist, which was his passion. Eric enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, hunting, drawing, was an avid reader and immersed himself in learning about all types of animals. His sisters were his pride and his nieces filled him with joy as he witnessed them grow into beautiful young ladies.
Eric was a friend to all, treated everyone with fairness and would help anyone in need. Throughout his life, he held unwavering faith in God, enjoyed the men’s ministries and sermons from Pastor Patrick at Lighthouse Assembly of God.
Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe G. and Lillie Mae Guerra of McAllen, Texas, Natividad and Guadalupe Iglesias of Mission, Texas and his cousin Joey Guerra.
Left in the caring hands of God are his parents; Nat and Tonette Iglesias, Jr.; sisters; Lillie Christine Rendón, Sarah Elena Butler and Marlene Jeanette Gonzales; brother-in-laws by marriage, but whom he considered brothers, Ricardo “Rick” Rendón, Luis A. Butler and Zach R. Gonzales; his nieces who were his greatest joy; Jasmine Christine Rendón, Faith Victoria Butler, Grace Elena Butler and Hope Alexandra Butler; numerous loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
