I met Elsa, Estella, Gloria and their parents Federico and Aurora at the age of fifteen years old. Our passion as youngsters was softball. We played for many years representing Mother Cabrini under The Cultural Enrichment Program our first championship in 1968 beating La Ladrillera 11-19 as the Apaches at a tournament at Cruz Field. Then started playing with the Tri-County City League and our sponsor was Jose Ignacio Montemayor Forward Agency and won many games and tournaments we were good players and winners. My last year was 1978
when I left Laredo to live in San Antonio.
The Martinez sisters were good women athletes and great players and I was honored to have had them be part of my youth and in my team for all those years. We will meet again and I know God is waiting to receive you with open arms.
Those were good memories that will forever stay in my heart.
