Edward Hillyer, Jr., 73, entered into eternal rest, Monday, January 19, 2015. Mr. Hillyer has been a resident of Laredo most of his life. While residing in Laredo, Mr. Hillyer worked for Transamerica for 10 years and has been a local entrepreneur with businesses such as Ed’s Tire Shop and Smoking Dog.
Mr. Hillyer is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Dorcas Hillyer and brother: Jerry Hillyer.
Left to cherish to his memory is his beloved wife of 38 years of marriage, Grace Hillyer, children: April (Robert) Hernandez, David (Diana) Hillyer and Douglas (Lois Janet) Hillyer, grandchildren: Belinda Cardaci, Daniel Llanos, Katherine Llanos, Robert Hernandez, Jr., Anthony Hernandez, Nicolas Hernandez, Douglas Hillyer, Jr., Ethan Hillyer and Avery Hillyer, great-grandchildren: Grace Smith and Christopher Cardaci, siblings: Harold Hillyer, Thelma Thorne and Nancy Bischoff, mother-in-law: Filomena Vela.
The family will be receiving friends for a memorial service on, Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a rosary was recited at 7:00pm.

I was Ed's wife and we had 6 children. Ed Hillyer the 3rd, Debbie Hillyer, Brenda Hillyer, Sherry Hillyer, Heidi Hillyer, and last but not least Robyn Hillyer. We all miss him and my kids as well and never got to really know him. LUV FOREVER FROM US ALL.
I thought everyone should know Ed had 6 other children by his first marriage that weren't mentioned here. Edward Hillyer Jr.Hanover Park Illinois, Debbie Hillyer (deceased) Brenda Hillyer Crutchfield of Crown Point, Indiana, Sherry Hillyer (deceased) Heidi Hillyer Cheeks, Kentucky,Robin Hillyer Alexander.of Dallas, Texas We would have loved to have known him.
