It is with a very heavy heart that I extend my entire immediate family's condolences to Rosa Maria, Cynthia, Eddie, Reuben, Nancy and the rest of the Mercado Vasquez family. I will never forget how Don Eduardo gave me an opportunity to learn the business of Jewelry. He was so patient and thorough. At the time it was an incredible help to my family financially. Don Eduardo never balked at letting me take a substantial amount of jewelry on consignment either! With all the long weekends I would spend at the Flea Market store and the main jewelry store on Arkansas, the one thing I MUST say, is that Don Eduardo was a man that lived a life of FAITH and that FAITH showed in everything HE DID! Like my father who had the pleasure of having worked with Don Eduardo for many years, he was always teaching me the ins and outs of being the best salesman I could be, but always reminded me the IMPORTANCE of having our Heavenly Father in our heart and soul to genuinely know how to treat a person. He told me you treat that person with kindness, love and respect and you will have a customer for life. I will NEVER forget everything he did to help MY family thrive, but what I will always remember is that GENUINE smile, little laugh he had and most IMPORTANTLY how humble, modest and easy going HE was! The world sure did lose and INCREDIBLE man, but HEAVEN gained an Angel. "You may choose who you will serve today, as for me and my house, WE will serve the Lord", Joshua 24:15. May our Heavenly Father blanket your entire family with HIS peace, grace, love and understanding during these most trying times. With Greatest Respect, Mario Octavio de la Peña Jr & Family
