Dr. Alfonso Martinez Rodriguez, 56, went into eternal rest on Friday, February 24, 2012. Dr. Rodriguez played the trumpet while attending Eagle Pass High School. He loved riding motorcycles, playing guitar, but most passionate about teaching. Dr. Rodriguez was a professor at Laredo Community College, the Treasurer of RGISC, member of LULAC, a two time former President of Faculty Assembly Senate and ran for city council to better serve Laredo.He is survived by his sisters: Olga Guillermina “Mina” (Patricio) De Gonzalez, Emilia “Mili” Martinez, Teresa E. “Tita” (Nicolas Bellizzia) Martinez; nieces: Olga Patricia “Tita” (Raul) Trad, Alejandra (Jorge) Sierra, Nicole Bellizzia; nephew: Adrian Bellizzia; grand-nieces: Karyme, Camila; grand-nephews: Raul, Jorge, and Patricio.
