David York Jr, 56, entered into eternal rest, Friday November 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife, children and sister.
He is preceded in death by his parents David and Yolanda York and his father in law, James J. Orfila Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Monica Orfila York, children, Joanna (Tim) Dorey, David James York, his granddaughter Charlotte Emma Dorey. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Lozano, nieces and nephews, Sandra E, Humberto D, Alejandra D, and Diego A. Lozano. Mother in Law, Alicia G, Orfila, brothers in law, Santiago (Alma) Orfila and Leopoldo Orfila as well as numerous family and friends.
He was an educator/digital learning specialist for Laredo ISD for 30 years. He started his career at Cigarroa H.S. as a math teacher. The last 24 years were spent at Martin H.S. as a Digital Learning Specialist for the Instructional Technology Department. He loved attending concerts and collecting memorabilia. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed spending time at the family ranch and with his granddaughter. David loved animals and helped rescue several pets. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The York family will be receiving condolences on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the Angelus chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. Funeral services will continue to San Luis Rey Catholic Church located at 3502 Sanders Ave, Laredo, TX 78040. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David James York, Tim Dorey, Humberto D. Lozano, Santiago Orfila, Fabian Villarreal, Jerry Sanchez, Rudy Long and Richard Trevino. Honorary Pallbearers: Alfonso Arraiza, John Hill, Jose Blanquez, Jose Lara and Hector Villarreal.
