Curtis Alfred Thierry

Curtis Alfred Thierry, 86, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Laredo, Texas.  Mr. Thierry was born December 23, 1927, in Damon, Texas, to the late Alfred Ralph and Edna Nell Thierry.  He was a World War II veteran, who served as a Seaman 1^st Class in the U.S. Naval Service and received the Victor Medal on February 10, 1948.  Mr. Thierry is survived by his wife: Aravela Avalos, children: Maria J. Avalos- Thelma Hussain Avalos, Roman (Cynthia) Hernandez, Rosa Anna Avalos, Fernando (Veronica) Sanchez and Raul (Leticia) Avalos, step sons: Joel (Cynthia) Guerrero and Miguel (Brenda) Guerrero.  The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Nurses on Wheels, nurses: Victoria, Curt, Mr. Madrigal and Nora Martines, Dr. Milton Haber and Dr. Luis M. Benavides.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the City Cemetery.  Graveside service will be officiated at 10:00am.  Interment will immediately follow.  Pallbearers will be: Roman Hernandez, Roman R. Hernandez, Jason A. Hernandez, Jorge Castellon, Joel Guerrero and Miguel Guerrero.  Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 59 and flag fold presentation by the U.S. Naval Service.
