Obituary

Carlos “Chale” P. Garza, 66, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013. Carlos “Chale” P. Garza was the youngest of seven siblings, father to five and pastor to all. He had a heart for the unlovable, and lived by the word: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” His legacy lives on thru the lives that he touched as he dedicated his time to the Oasis of Love Ministries, and more specifically, to the mission field. The many seeds he planted produced a plentiful harvest.He fought the good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith.As he would say: “Remember Jesus loves you, and you’re on the brink of a miracle.”Mr. Garza was preceded in death by his parents: Sabino and Olga Garza and brother: Chago Garza.He is survived by his children: Patsy (Mike) Schwab of Boerne, Cindy (Glen) Havelka of Portland, Carlos (Kris) Garza of Laredo, Jeannette (Kevin) Johnson of Pleasanton, Chuck (Yesenia) Garza of Laredo, grandchildren: Michael, Jr., Alisha, Ashley, Teresa, Ethan, Mia, Thomas, Alexis, Nicolas, Michael and Elijah, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters: Martha (+Roberto) Cuellar of Laredo, Anna (Esteban) Ramos of Laredo, Rosa (+Peter) Cantu of Laredo, Judith Gutierrez of Laredo and Sylvia (+Bill) Palumbo, nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service for Mr. Garza will be held at the Church of the Crossroads, 1301 International Blvd., Laredo, TX 78045, on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 10:30am. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Carrales from Faith Christian Center of Freer. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made out to Victorious Christian Harvesters, P. O. Box 450108 Laredo, TX 78045. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Dr. Maurice Click and Dr. Andres Soriano and their staff, and they also would like to give a special thanks to Maria Escamilla for the wonderful care she gave Mr. Garza and Pastor Norman and Sandra Howell for their spiritual support and guidance.
