Carlos Cabello, 68, entered into eternal rest, Monday, April 15, 2024. Mr. Cabello was born in Laredo, Texas on August 19, 1955 to Francisco and Maria O. Cabello. After graduating in 1974 from J.W Nixon High School, before joining the Laredo Fire Department he worked at Laredo hardware, and City of Laredo water works department. He married the love of his life in January 1976. On June 1984 he entered the fire academy, graduating from the academy in October 12, 1984. After serving the community for 29 years he retired as Captain in August 17, 2013.
Carlos or “Chapa” as many knew him was kind and funny in his own way. He had a nickname for everyone and it was kind of like a rite of passage to get a nickname from him. He was the life of any room and you would know when he was around because there would be so much noise. He was loved and seeked out by many and would not disappoint. He wanted the best for everyone and would always treat them with kindness. He adored his siblings and would visit with them on a daily basis. Every pet he came across was dearly loved by him. His heart, personality and charisma was unmatched.
Mr. Cabello is survived by his wife of 48 years of marriage, Maria Teresa Cabello; faithful loyal companion, JC Cabello; daughters, Irma Yvonne (Armando) Blanco and Carolyn (Gustavo) Salazar; grandchildren, Ethan Enrique Cabello, Carina Yvonne Salazar, Abel Javier Cabello, David Ivan Blanco, Armando Blanco Jr, and last but not least baby Catherine “Cat” Erias Salazar; siblings, Luisa( Bernardino) Sandoval, Francisco(Gloria)Cabello Jr, Minerva (+Eliseo) Perez, Margarita(+ Cruz) Hernandez, Ricardo Cabello, and Rogelio (Carmen) Cabello. Sister in Law, Mary Lou (Adan) Guajardo; partners in crime, Audriana, Aubrilla, and Isabella Moncivais; sister in law, Mary Lou (Adan) Guajardo; God children, Camilia Perez Gonzalez, Noe Guajardo and Kathy Speer; as well as many other close relatives and friends.
The Cabello family will be receiving condolences on Friday, April 19, 2024 in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from the funeral home to Christ the King Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Enrique Cabello, Abel Javier Cabello, Gustavo Salazar, Armando Blanco, Rogelio Cabello and Eliseo Godina. Honory Pallbearers will be Francisco Cabello, Ricardo Cabello, Ricardo Noe Perez, Roque Perez, Manuel Ramirez and Nico Gomez.

I worked with Mr.Hair at station #7.He always brought a laugh and a smile to make our day . He had nicknames for almost every one he worked with. Mine was Heart ❤️. Mr. Hair was soft spoken , and very knowledgeable. He was one of the smartest people I knew. He will be missed by everyone that was honored to work with him and knew him . May GOD bless his family.
