On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Arnulfo “Choche” Garcia, loving father of two girls, passed away at the age of 70, after a long battle with cancer. Arnulfo was born on April 20, 1953 in Laredo, Texas where he lived his entire life. He spent the majority of his life working for the Texas-Mexican railroad and the Webb County Sheriff’s Department, from where he retired. He had a passion for music, playing the drums for different bands. In his spare time, you would find him outside listening to music and grilling, as well as watching his Dallas Cowboys play.
Arnulfo was preceded in death by his father Arnulfo, his mother Hortencia, brother Ricardo (Sylvia+), and sister Hilda (Ignacio) Longoria. He is survived by his two daughters Xochitl (Bryan) Blakely and Alicia (Heriberto) Villagrana. Grandchildren Jeremy (Anna) Blakely, Kaylan Blakely, Christa Villagrana, Jordyn Villagrana, and Olivia Villagrana. Sisters Yolanda (Jose) Amaya and Rosa Maria (Oscar) Castillo. Brother Gabriel (Cynthia+) Garcia. Future great-grandson Archer Blakely, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was formally married to the mother of his girls, Araceli Garcia.
The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Cremation will be held at a later date.
