Anita de Luna Rodriguez was born January 23, 1935 in Laredo, Texas.
She was 79 years young when she went with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Anita was a kind, generous, beautiful and knowledgeable woman who always strived to learn more and share with the people she loved. During her early years, she worked at Hachar’s Department Store in the cosmetic department and then later at Central Pharmacy. Throughout her life she was a constant companion to her loving mother Angela Vallejo, and then later she was her caregiver until Angela left this world in 1998. They are now enjoying each other’s company again. Though she met her husband, Eduardo Rodriguez, late in life they managed to spend 41 happy years together. Anita was an important part of our lives and though we know she is in a better place, she is missed with all of our hearts.
Anita was preceded in death by her mother Angela Vallejo.
She is survived by her loving husband Eduardo Rodriguez, her step daughter Xochitl Rodriguez, step grandsons Angel Rodriguez, Eduardo Rodriguez II, and Fidel Rodriguez; Her sister Aurora (Douglas) Shearer; nieces Cindy Thompson, Denine (Kurt) Parker, nephew David (Amy) Shearer and her cousin and best friend Gloria Gutierrez, as well as, her grand nieces, cousins and second cousins.

Luke 21:3 So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; 4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” My aunt had more than this poor widow, but this story reminds me of her. She gave abundantly, continually, and consistantly to her husband and family; and I imagine she gave a lot to God also with her money, prayers, and tears. We are a very small family, so my aunt and uncle are my second mom and dad. They have always been so gentle and loving with me, and that is sweetness to my soul! (Outwardly, I have always thought that my aunt is one of the most beautiful women in the world; God gave her beautiful features to match her beautiful spirit.) I John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. I Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. My aunt was a believer and follower of Jesus, despite any doubts, unknowns, or whys. She had the hope that she would be with Jesus in heaven. These verses promise that she would see Him and know Him. God loves her so much! And now she gets to experience His lavish, overwhelming, pure love! II Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. We mourn because we are in this world, and we have lost a beautiful precious woman. But our mourning is not without hope! May God be our Hope and Comforter. I don't have a lot of originals thoughts, and when someone else says something worth repeating, I defer to them. My Tio, the best blessing and consolation comes from God. I love you! Thank you for everything. This is my prayer for you. Numbers 6:24 “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
Dear Tio Eduardo, My most sincere condolences. Tia Anita was a very gracious person. She will be deeply missed, but remember that Jesus Christ at His second coming will resurrect the dead that believe that believed in him and will gather the living who believe in Him for eternity in His heavenly kingdom and there will be no more death, sorrow or pain! May God be with you during this time of trial. Our apologies for not being able to attend. Our prayers are with you and the rest of our family. Love you and God bless! Flor Salinas Houston, Texas
